Fall

Fall in our household means the start of fantasy football. Tim took on the stressful job commissioner and organized a successful draft night.

Tim's bestie got married and we couldn't be happier for them.
Congratulations Steph and Blake!

The Wright's moved houses and was made possible by the LDS missionaries. Once the move was all finished Tim, Dede and Trevor enjoyed football on the couch in the new house.

We took the Ngai's to Kananskis for shooting. This is a fun hobby that I have enjoyed since being married to Tim. If you split the cost of ammo with us we are always happy to take you out!! We love it… and Tim a little too much.

We enjoyed a Saturday on the couch enjoying General Conference. Truly inspired!
Thanks to my super awesome job, Tim was able to have his eyes checked. This was his first time going to an optometrist in roughly 20 years. This is not a joke or an exaggeration. He ended up needing reading glasses and it was overwhelming to say the least.
The store was having a 2 for 1 special so Tim walked over to the men's section, picked up a pair of glasses and said I will take to of these. What a rookie. I am made him try on lots until we found 2 pretty good pairs of glasses.
I got to enjoy 4 paid hours off of work to go vote in our city election. Tim came with and voted for the first time as a Canadian. We celebrated by going to McDonald's for lunch! Mayor Nenshi was voted back in to office!
Dairy Queen has pumpkin pie blizzard's in October because of Thanksgiving and they are to die for!
I also ate a lot of smile cookies in September! All proceeds go to the local NICU.
Rocked my smile cookie shirt.
I also started training for transport. The Foothills Hospital is a level 3 nursery which provides the most acute care south of Red Deer. When the rural hospitals have babies that are too sick for them to manage they call us and we go pick the baby up and bring them back. This is very overwhelming for me but I am very excited for my career and skills to grow. I love the NICU and the job role that the RRT's have there. Preemie power all the way!
National Prematurity awareness day is on November 17th. It is always great to see the NICU graduates and their families. I am soooo proud of those babies. The road in the NICU is very long and filled with lots of bumps.

White Wedding

After safely making it home from China, I had many calls from my sisters saying how much they missed/needed me. They had no husbands and with the birth of Scarlett, the adult to child ratio was going down. We talked Tyler into picking up Denton and Kim and were able to go home a day early and made it just in time for the bridal shower. Thanks to Sheri, who brought the food, the shower was truly a success and we were able to catch up with friends and family!
Erin asked Tannis a lot of tough questions about Nathan that she got wrong and had to eat some gum for!
Uncle Tim did a lot of baby sitting and just gave them whatever they wanted. The kids had a lot of diet coke and candy!
They also loved Uncle Tim's bag of China tricks that had all of the cheap, noisy and cool toys we brought back for them!
Seriously! How cute is CoCo boy in his jersey from China!

Before the wedding we got our toes done. This was seriously the most relaxing part of the entire weekend!
Umm... I think those are some serious Wilde feet! Large and long skinny toes!
We also went out for dinner but I had to sit all by myself on the other side of the table. I was sad but that is ok cuz it was delicious!
Mario Kart Wii!! Of course we introduced Nathan to our favourites on Mario Kart and played a few rousing rounds of Jeopardy.
Eventually we did make it to the wedding! And it all went down with out a hitch. Congratulations Nathan and Tannis. We look forward to lots more fun and hopefully we don't overwhelm Nathan too much!
Could these kids be any cuter! And I LOVED Tannis's dress. She looked amazing.

Sisters are seriously the best!

We had to get resourceful for decorating the car and there was a tonne of whip cream at the wedding which worked out perfect for us!
The boys recovered from the wedding by having going out for a full day of golf. Tim was in heaven to say the least.
No trip to Soab is complete with out visiting Grandpa Kevin and riding the horses. This time Great Grandpa Dudley even got out the chariot. This was the first out at the Dudley's that it wasn't crazy windy so it was very fun.

I think after all these years we still got it!
To finish off we all went to Wally's Beach. This is a hidden gem and was seriously so fun. We spent lots of time building castles and wading into the water.

The boys thought it would be schemed and managed to get all of us wet.

Scar was seriously awesome and just hung out everywhere we went!! I do love her and so glad she is finally here.
It was seriously such a fun week and I am glad the White's got married and we all stayed safe. Can't wait til we all get back together for a party at Fairmont!

Asian Persuasian part 2: Taiwan

We had been following the news, as there was a Typhoon that was hitting the Philippines and was supposed to hit Taiwan next. Our flight was the last allowed to land before the Taiwan airport was closed. Aside from a bumpy landing, we were safe. It was great to meet the Lin’s (Tim’s uncle on his mother’s side). They new the way to my heart and we did a lot of eating! I seriously spent most of my time being stuffed and trying to fit more in.

I was a bit overwhelmed by the shrimp. They still had their heads!
We took the high speed train from the Jojo and Joma's house into Taipei. I really enjoyed it and wish there was one from here to Edmonton.

We went up the Taipei 101 which is a big business and shopping centre. I of course enjoyed an audio tour and Tim just had to wait for me.

To get to the top of Taipei 101 we got to ride on the world's fastest elevator.
The great big balls in the centre of the building stabilize the building to protect from typhoons and earthquakes.
We did lots of shopping and even went to snake alley! I wasn't brave enough to try snake soup but I did see some gigantic snakes. I want to know who has to feed the snakes the mice. I think that would be the worst job in the world because I hate mice.
Shopping at snake alley.

Taiwan really took 7-11 to a whole new level for me! They were seriously everywhere and we learned that they did EVERYTHING! You can get mail sent there, pay tickets, buy train tickets, buy food such as rice or black tea eggs and most importantly they had mugua niu nai aka papaya milk! Fresh papaya milk really was awesome but the stuff in the carton form 7-11 was disgusting. That didn’t stop Tim; he drank at least 2 per day.

On our last day there we went out to the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, due to the typhoon, we were experiencing a serious amount of rain. No rain could stop me seeing as I never get to go to the ocean. I am pretty sure Tim’s family thought I was crazy! We tried to rent bikes but got rained out…. This is as far as we got….

For dinner they had me pick out what I wanted. It was a bit overwhelming seeing as dinner was still swimming! But it was delicious and I am glad I stepped out of my comfort zone!

We made a serious mess! Tim even accidentally broke the lobster cracker.

One of the best parts of the Taiwan experience was meeting Tim’s grandma or Apo. She was seriously the cutest and sweetest little lady. I wanted to put her in my pocket and take her with me! She could only speak mandarin but luckily Tim had taught me a few songs. Are you sleeping and head shoulders knees and toes were my songs of choice. I am pretty rough at remembering everything and usually end up making parts of it up but that is ok, she understood and even sang along.

Even flying out ended up being an experience. We were tired and just wanted to our stuff to get there. When checking in the attendant asked if we wanted a Hello Kitty boarding pass. I asked if he was speaking English. When boarding we realized that plane was decorated in Hello Kitty. Inside the plane everything was Hello Kitty (even the toilet paper and barf bag!). I was in heaven but Tim wasn’t so sure.

All in the entire trip was an experience and we are very very glad that we went!
