Calgary Iron Man

Gordon, Myrleen and Karlie came to visit us up here in the great white north! They hung out just long enough for Gordon to run the Calgary Half Iron Man. He did amazing and it was so fun to watch.
Watching at the end of the race.

Run Gordon Run!!! He was easily spotted as he was proudly wearing his American gear.

They also enjoyed our funny money! I seriously love Canadian coloured money because it is easier see the bill you need!! I never have to look through each bill because they are all the same colour! Gordon also enjoyed our puppy. He would scare Wrigley with a stuffed animal and chase him around the Wright's house. It was hilarious!

Tally Lake

The Wilde's all met up in Montana for a family camping trip at Tally Lake. It was truly a blast. The lake is super black and extremely deep but very warm so it was enjoyable to boat, throw rocks and swim around in. We also enjoyed a copius amount of vanilla coke, cherry coke and diet coke. The boys rocked the golf course and the girls went shopping. Seriously can hardly wait til we get Target here! I hope it is good.
I was looking a little rough by this point because the sun was crispy frying me!

Cohen loved everything about Tally Lake. He went knee boarding and tubing. He also was just "holding" the matches for you and could hardly wait for you to start the fire at night so he could roast you a marshmallow.

Even gator was camping!

Mason and Quinny were terrorsists as per usual but seriously how cute are they?

Napping while camping was a struggle which resulted in....

and both slept in the boat

Quinny learned how to escape from the tent in the wee hours of the morning.

Mom being mom but seriously a big thanks to her for planning all of this and organizing food and bringing of all the supplies that none of us have collected yet.

Mom enjoying nap time.

Danielle is not so good at making jiffy pop but I am a jiffy pop master! I guess Girls Camp taught me something.

I promis Tim was at Tally Lake the entire time but I somehow managed to take no pictures. He did have us buy whip cream and it was much enjoyed.

After the first night we learned to put the babies to bed and then start a fire. We enjoyed playing guesstures, eating marshmallows, lasso golf and of course dutch blitz.

Much to my mother's surprise I learned how to drive the boat with a quick lesson!

Erin rocked at wakeboarding and managed to drop a ski to go to slalom!
Danielle got up on the wakeboard for the first time and then followed it right up by getting up on skis!

I managed to wakeboard and then get up on skis and was able to drop a ski to slalom!!! I was soo happy.

Tanny is skiing below but was a wakeboard queen! She had enough guts to try a 180 but then waxed out hard on her way back across the wake.

Mom's still got it! She had to use her fabulous wet suit but she still got out there!

The boys took a break from the group and went cliff jumping. Caution their whiteness might blind you!

July's Awesome Adventure Part2: Scows

Upon arriving in Idaho Danielle and I learned that you can buy fireworks at the grocery store! Who knew?! So we immediately hit that up to prepare ourselves for Canada day!  The next day we were all dressed in Canada day swagger and had oodles of fun celebrating Canada's birthday. We had a hot dog roast complete with smores and finished the night off with fireworks!

Cohen was immensely enjoyed him self as Tim helped him light most of the fireworks.

We also enjoyed lunch in the park. Cohen left to go play so I stole a swig of his chocolate milk. He later came back and was so upset because some was gone. I definitely was going to admint that it was me. Danielle told him he must have drank more than he thought...

Cohen loves Wrigley and was an awesome dog walker!

When I go to visit I love to relive my childhood through buying the kids fun activities that I never got to do. This time we tried out balloonies! They smelled highly toxic but were pretty awesome. You put this goop on the end of a straw and blow these big bubbles/ballons. They were pretty cool. Cohen and Mason had fun popping them.

We also enjoyed a round of golf. Danielle and I were clearly enjoying ourselves. On one hole you had to hit the ball over water. I surprisingly made it over by skipping it off the water and over.

Tim is looking super ghetto because his shoulders were so sore that he would have been unable to golf without cutting the sleeves off.

Tim managed to golf through the water trap... aka the sprinklers.

We enjoyed lots of shopping and both bought maxi dresses.

Mason LOVES books and was more than happy to hang out with me as long as I had one.

We also enjoyed staying upu late to play games and eat caramel popcorn! So delicious. Thanks to Denton's boss we also went white water rafting. Denton fell out twice. On the second time around I thought I could do better but I still fell out once. Danielle learned that I am not as crazy as I used to be and I no longer jump with out thinking. However Danielle did talk me in to jumping in and floating for a bit and that was pretty fun.

Cohen was in fine form and full of entertainment. Favourite comment, said like a valley girl, was OH MY GOSH! After Tim bought him some jelly belly's, only because Cohen was eating them off the grocery store floor, he announced that Tim wasn't scary and he wasn't scared of Tim anymore. While eating the jelly belly's, Cohen had to share with Mason but would only hand one over after licking it and not liking the flavour.

We appreciate the Scow's watching Wrigley while we were in Utah!!! Even if he was a bit crazy... and escaped during church!!! We learned that he can fit through a hole in the fence that is 3 1/2 inches big!!

Thanks again for all the fun! We hope to see you same time next year??!?!

July's Awesome Adventure Part1: Wright's

So we took an amazing vacation for pretty much all of July. It was wonderful to be surrounded by family and friends and not be in Calgary for once. We left on June 30th just in time to make it to Danielle's house for July 1st. It was a blast but will be recorded in the second part of July's awesome adventure.
We went to Utah to spend July 4th with the Wright's. They are serious partiers and we had some serious fun. We drove fast and made it just in time to go fishing! We hit up Deer Creek but got skunked!! BOO! My first serious fishing trip and we didn't catch anything but a measely pike! But that is ok because it meant we needed to do more fishing trips!
Bryan has the coolest fishing boat. When you actually catch fish you can open a little tank in the bow of the boat and watch them swim around!
On our way to go fishing. Can you tell they are related? It is hard to see but they are all sitting the exact same way!!

This is Joshua looking at the fishies we cought at Rockport.

Here is Timmy in the green getting ready to net a fish. You can also see his sleeves have been rolled up which later lead to a burn that blistered!!! He told his Aunt Shauna and I quote: I am Asian. I don't need sunscreen and I won't burn! Bahahaha!

I gutted the fish I caught and it was disgusting! (mine was the biggest!)
Tim was so excited to share fishing with me. This is what he loved to do as a little boy. He has endless memories of going out with Beebaw and watching him fiddle with the engine to get the best speed. I also love the story of when Beebaw bought a new fishing boat instead of a dinner table for Grammy! I guess Grammy would call them to gather around the "fishing boat" for dinner!
July 4th was an awesome party! We had an awesome crew and it was fantastic to see everyone.
David made ice cream.

For the last two years all I have heard about was the cannon... When David was in high school he made a cannon that every July 4th the Wright's shoot off. It was pretty cool.
All outside watching the cannon. Over to hang out was: The Delaney's, Jake and Ashely, Eliza, Wesley, David, Chrissy, Dede, Gordon, Myrleen and Karlie, Kajsa, Logan and there cute kiddos and of course the Bryan, Shauna and there amazing kids!

Happy 4th of July!!

After the 4th we hiked Mt. Timpanogas!! It was super fun and we all made it to the tippy top! I was prepared with a pb&j, trail mix, water and jerkey! Gordon, the iron man runner, was prepared with salt pills and goo... If anyone looked the slightest bit tired, Gordon was quick to offer up the goo. Brandon tried some and quickly decided to stick with normal food. Tim did manage to get one down.

Here is Shauna and Bryan taking a shortcut which was not so short! By this point Tim and I had finally learned! By the end of the trip I couldn't help but to roll my eyes when Gordon offered goo or said it is just another 100 yards. Yeah, so not 100 yards! But on the other hand look how pretty the meadow is! We saw big horn sheep! way cool.

A panoramic shot. We ALL hiked to the highest peak.

Here we are at the top. Brandon was sooo amazing! He did so well and peed at every rest point. He was definitely not dehydrated at the end.

A cute little tin shack at the top.

Other highlights include:
-shopping
-eating waaay too much
-BANG
-Famiy
-Late night chats
-Playing at a gymnastic gym
-Spider man
-Dropping a flag off and visiting the Meechum's
We had so much fun just being there and appreciate the hospitality from Bryan and Shauna. Their kids are getting so big and it is fun to hang out with them.
