Other December Highlights

Jack and I did an aquacise class with some friends from work. It was so much fun and a pretty good work out. Jack sat in a floaty while I worked out. Jack has always loved the water and was always happy for the entire class.
Does it get any cuter than this?
Rosy cheeks after a cold walk outside.
The squeaker fell out of one of Wrigley's toys. Jack started squeaking it and it freaked Wrigley out. He hid behind me. It was fairly hilarious.
Happy Sunday before Christmas.
We met up with the Dudley's for a ski day at Lake Louise. We used two passes and just switched off skiing because someone had to stay with Lincoln. It was a great day to ease back into skiing.
With the end of my benefit money I bought a set of skis! Taking them out for the maiden voyage felt good. The weather was great and so was the snow.
This little chunk was pretty fun to hang out with. He is getting way to big.

Another perk to where our house is located is the Festival of Lights. Because we back onto the park we are so close to all of the fun things that go on there. The Festival of Lights goes on for all of December. We got together with some friends to enjoy them and then they came back to our house for hot chocolate.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We were pretty excited to start decorating and prepping for the Christmas season. We got out all of the decorations only to realize our tree had been ruined in a previous flood. The good news was that we had started the day early and had plenty of time to go hunt/shop for a new tree. We hit up Tim's favourite store, Canadian Tire, and found all of the necessities. I put Jack in one of the toy car carts. He loved it.
It was so fun to see Jack's curiosity over the lights, tree and ornaments. He doesn't fully comprehend what is going on but it is still fun to show him holidays and traditions.

I took Jack to the Santa Clause parade. Tim was too sick to come but we had fun anyways. The weather was pretty fairly warm and we dressed up warm but the parade started a little late so by the end of the parade Jack was tired and done. Maybe next year will be a little more successful.

First Presidency devotional was really nice and the music is always gorgeous.
Living by the train does have a few perks. On Tim's way home he saw the holiday train and ran inside to come show us. There was music and lots of people playing outside in the snow. Next year we will be more prepared to enjoy all the lights.
Jack and I went to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. He started out ok, even had bit of curiosity over who the strange man was.
Then the tears started.
So we hit up Yogen Fruz for a treat.
After Yogen Fruz we went back to Santa and shamelessly took another picture. He was missing his shoe in the first picture and it was annoying me. With a little luck he didn't hate it!
We got together with the girls from work for a cookie exchange. So much fun and Jack approved of the spoils.
Jack was also fascinated by the first real snow fall.
We went out to Tim's work party. We started with dinner, at the bowling alley, that we had to cook!! I love Olds. In all honesty, Tim does work with fabulous people and it was fun to get to know them all better. After supper we went bowling. It was nice to have a night out.

11 months

Jack continues to grow into his own little human. He loves to play and explore. He isn't shy but prefers me and Tim. He has now added apple sauce to the list of foods he enjoys. He sleeps through the night but wakes up between 5 or 6. It is something we are working on. He does nap well which allows me to catch up on missed sleep. I just can hardly believe this little monster turns one next month. Time has really flown by!!

Jack loves his dad. He crawls to the door when Tim leaves in the morning and will sit there for a little while until he is sure Tim isn't coming back. Tim wakes up with Jack most mornings. Most mornings Tim feeds Jack not so healthy choices. I can't complain because I am still in bed.

We had a couple of long days this month because Jack had hand, foot and mouth disease and had little red bumps all over. It is supposed to make your throat really sore. After a long day and Jack spitting all food at me I hit up Wendy's for supper. I got Jack a small frosty. He ate half of it and felt all kinds of better. He finally had energy and I even got a smile.

Being sick makes for long days but on the positive side I get some snuggles. I am not complaining about that because I rarely get them anymore.

This little cheezer loves the dog and thinks he is one. We had to put the bones away because Jack kept finding them and chewing on them...
Jack meet snow, snow meet Jack. He was interested for about 30 sec until he realized that he was freezing.
We finally bought a baby gate but Jack just sits at the bottom and cries if he isn't allowed to go up. The good news is that he has learned how to go down the stairs!
Jack is busy and interested. There is always a mess in our house! When I call him and he is doing something he probably shouldn't he just looks over and grins.

Jack has become interested in the vents. He managed to get his entire leg in one. After pulling him out I checked to see if there were any treasures in there. I found screws, window hangings and a remote. I have literally been looking for that remote EVERYWHERE!! I have unpacked every box and had given up on ever finding the remote.
I filled the crock pot with an inch of water and gave him some toys to play with in the water. Jack was in heaven and I was able to get supper made!
Jack has 3 teeth (two bottom and one top) and can bite things. He tried pizza and loved it!
We still try to get out for walks on the regular but it is definitely more work. When we do make it outside Jack is so happy and content.
