June Happenings

For the most part the weather was fabulous and we continued to spend most days outside. One night we put Jack in his jambes and biked for an hour or so. It made bedtime so easy.
And because the days are getting longer I am able to go out after bedtime for a bike ride with Wrigley. Sure do love that little dog!
We also enjoyed a bike ride with the Ngai's. We rode to a park by the Science Centre. We had a little picnic and then rode back. The boys got a long great and I got a serious sun burn!
Jack continues to be as busy as every.
When Jack is hungry he will bring us things from the pantry. Most times it is quinoa, flour and other baking things. Every now and again he gets lucky and picks something like chocolate chips. This boy is a lover of chocolate!
Really looking forward to lots of splash park days!
Remember that one time I loaded the dishwasher... me neither!
One day as I was getting ready I set Jack on the bed. He was whining. After a few minutes it got quiet, when I turned around he had fallen asleep. Summer is exhausting for this kid.
Date day on the golf course.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to me. Being a mother wasn't something I always dreamed about. I knew it was something I wanted but I felt like life was ok the way it was. Jack has more stamina and drive than I knew was possible for one little human. This drive has tested and stretched me in so many ways but my ability for love has also increased. I enjoy spending most days at home to hang with Jack. Sometimes I really crave the success and validation that came from work. I have to take a step back and realize that I do have it all. Maybe not by the world's standards but by mine. I have a husband who loves me and a sweet boy who calls me mom. The measure of success for me has changed and honestly I like it. My life was ok before this but now, more than ever, I am so excited for the future and for the forever with my people. It is cliche but that is what life for me has come to and I am happy!
I wanted a perfect picture with Jack but I waited too long and he was wiped from church.
So I blew him some bubbles while Tim cooked me some supper.
Supper was delicious and in addition to that I got spoiled with some new lulu's!
Here's to another year of middle of the night wake up calls and early mornings, sticky fingers and sloppy kisses!
I also have to give a big shout out to my own mother! She is really the greatest. She has been through
a lot but is so positive and happy. She has a lot of spunk and is so kind to everyone she knows. She gave me a love of Diet Coke, skiing and traveling. I wasn't the greatest teen but she put up with me and helped me find my way through the hard days. I am pretty lucky to have her in my corner!

Magical May

May was fabulous because the weather was insanely nice and we took full advantage! I filled up a tub with water and picked up some large gems and measuring cups from the dollar store. Jack thought it was fabulous and literally played for hours. On the hotter days I tried to be a good mom and put a hat on the kid but he pretty much refused and I eventually gave up.

I started on my garden. When we started to work the dirt we realized the previous owners had a fabric weed sheet and a tree stump buried in the garden! It took me many nap times to dig the stump out but I am so happy it is gone!

I built a little green house. 15 tomato plants and 6 red pepper plants survived my grow op! I really hope these bad boys produce a lot and I am able to try my hand at canning. Fingers crossed for no killer hale!
Tim has been trying to get me to run a 10k for quite some time. I am starting slow and trying to be consistent. My two friends enjoy the runs way more than me! Through running I am getting to know Airdrie so much better. Sometimes the view isn't so bad!
Dollar drink day are back! Hollaaaaaaa!
As per usual Jack is keeping me very busy. He still hates fruit but loves yogurt, meat, popcorn and oatmeal.

Jack and I went to Calgary Reads. They have a bunch of tables set up in an ice arena with thousands of second hand books for sale. All the kids books were $1!! It was fun and I am so excited about all the books I scored.
We snuggle and read books after most naps so all the new books will be very welcomed. I have a few memorized!
Mom came for a quick visit. Jack helped her with the vacuuming.
We got some mail from our favourite Aunt across the world! We miss you already. Please come home soon Tannis!

The Toronto Raptors made it pretty far in the play offs so lots of nights were spent cheering them on. It got pretty intense. I also taught Jack to say Go Go Go!!
I attempted a yoga challenge. It was supposed to be calming and grounding but my helper made it anything but that.
I have a new obsessions of getting the clearance food at Wal-mart. Each one of these items was only $1! I am always pretty pumped by a killer deal!
I finally caved and cut Jack's hair. The wisps in the back were just too out of control and he was looking a bit homeless. I gave him my phone with youtube videos and he could care less.

Anniversary #6

Happy Anniversary to this guy! Time seems to go by faster and faster every year. This year has been a harder one for me because adding a kid to your life is no joke. Jack has brought more joy to our lives than either of us ever imagined. Jack has required us to grow and change in so many ways. We bought a house and Tim has been working at a new job. I have gone back to work. Life seems to be a constant juggling act and we have had to grow and adjust a lot. Although moments of this year have been tough I have more fully appreciated Tim and all the support, love and laughter he brings into my life. Tim helps me find balance and adores Jack. The successes and joy of this year make me so excited to take on the next year. Life has truly been a ride but it is one I would do over and over again. I wouldn't change a single thing.
For this anniversary we finally took advantage of the Dudley's. We drove up to Edmonton and dropped Jack off for a sleepover. This was our very first Jack free night. We went on a date to Jubilations Dinner Theatre: Pretty Woman. It was a cute little play loosely based on the movie. The food was delicious and the people hilarious! They had people celebrating anniversaries come to the front. I managed to talk Tim into going up.

The next morning we slept in (so glorious!) and then out for breakfast and shopping. Eventually we did make it back to the Dudley's to pick up Jack. I won the best wife award by letting Tim go golfing. The weekend was a success and lots of fun was had!
