The Eunuch Dog

Our poor little puppy became less of a man a few days ago. We finally bit the bullet and got him neutrered. He has become more aggressive at the dog park, specifically to lab puppies. It is so odd but finally pushed us to book him for surgery.

When I called the vet, Wrigley gave me sad eyes and I am positive he knew exactly what I was doing.
Wrigley absolutely hated his cone but I made him wear it because I was so nervous that he would get at it and we would be back at the vet. He now sleeps on a pillow by our bed so that is where we put him for the night. We hadn't cleaned up our room in quite some time so we soon heard some crying from Wrigley. He had wandered and had gotten stuck behind a laudry basket and couldn't make it back to his pillow with the cone. I took pity on him so i pulled him up in to the bed. I had just come off night so I was having troubles sleeping. So was Wrigley. He just sat on the end of the bed looking sad. Finally at 2:00 am I took went with Wrigley to the couch and took the cone off of him. I didn't want to wake Tim because he had classes in the morning. The good news is that Wrigley left it alone and we have not had any problems! He is back in full force with more energy than ever!

Calgary Temple

It is so wonderful to finally have a temple here in Calgary. The open house and dedication were amazing. It was so amazing to see the entire city buzzing with excitement. Everybody was curious and there were so many wonderful stories of people's experiences as they went through.
I had the opportunity to go through with a bunch of my friends from work.
How the open house worked was you first sat in the church to watch a movie to explain why temples are so important to us. In the movie one of the apostles talked about how heaven wouldn't be heaven with out his family. I really liked this part of the video. I felt like it put things in perspective for me. Family is so important to me and I love them all so much! I look forward to the future when we start our family and it is so comforting to know that whatever happens we will be together forever. Beyond that Heavenly Father our loves us enough to give us temples so that we can do work for ancestors who have passed on before us. We all get an equal chance. I can't imagine living life having no idea as to what happens when we die.
After the video we got to go walk through and see all the rooms in the temple. I didn't realize how much I take for granted because I have been in the church my entire life. I loved the curiosity of my friends. It was really amazing to take it all in. Inside the temple is absolutely beautiful. Everything is so elegantly done. I loved the theme of wheat through the temple. It made it special and unique to Calgary!
I also went to the temple with the Wright's. We even managed to sneak in a family picture.
The dedication was also superb. President Monson and Elder Packer came to Calgary to dedicate our beautiful temple. While President Monson was speaking you could feel the love he has for everyone and especially Calgary. He is so witty and wonderful. I do truly love and trust him.
There is truly a spirit of peace and happiness all around the temple and I am beyond grateful to have the blessing so close to me. I look forward to many temple dates with Tim!

Halloween 5KM

I know I am slow at getting this blog in but I am super proud of myself for running a 5km race. I know wimpy for only a 5km race but it was way fun and I think I will sign up again!

I was a neon/glowstick girl.
I ran the race with Jennessa and Audrey who are some of my favorite girls from work.
Audrey was dressed up as Mario and we had a blast waiting for the race to start and looking at all of the cool characters. Audrey's sister did a big group warm up dance and the best part was gagam style. That was the point that Jennessa showed up and she hasn't let me live down my dancing skills.

Audrey is in amazing shape and made Jennessa and me run super fast and super hard. We finished in under 40minutes! WOW! Maybe if I practice I will be even faster for next time!

I'm a Mounty...

Well Tim isn't a mounty but we took a picture with one because Tim is a Canadian citiizen!! We are sooo excited and it feels soooo good to be done with the process. He started the application a year ago and in February he went downtown and wrote the test. In preparation for the test he quizzed me on my knowledge. For starters I am terrible with dates and am not sure I would be capable of passing. The good news is that Tim is a smart cookie and passed with flying colours. The unfortunate news is that there was an issue somewhere with the paper work and he was unable to obtain his citizenship in February. Although he was upset and very frustrated because it felt like a continual dead end, he persevered and finally managed to sort the issue out. As it turns out there was just a misunderstanding and once they removed the restriction he was ready to go for ctizenship.

Tim was sworn in during citizenship week so the ceremony was held at the CBC news radio station. We had to wait outside til they were ready for us. We were then brought in groups of 10. It was very odd but in the end everyone made it inside and Tim recieved his citizenship test.
The ceremony was very nice. A judge and a rude politician spoke. They were then sworn in. They had to say the oat in English and French. Let's just that the French was less than pretty and just sounded like mumbles. They then walked across the stage and received their citizenship! It was so exciting. I was a little sad because Mayor Nenshi couldn't make it but all in all the ceremony was a success.
Congratulations Tim! I am so proud of you for becoming a Canadian citizen. I look forward to the future and never letting your Wright family forget that you stuck here forever now!

You know you're a Canadian when.....
  • You're not offended by the term "Homo Milk".
  • You eat chocolate bars instead of candy bars.
  • You drink pop, not soda.
  • You can drink legally while still a teen.
  • You talk about the weather with strangers and friends alike.
  • You don't know or care about the fuss with Cuba, it's just a cheap place to travel with good cigars and no Americans.
  • When there is a social problem, you turn to your government to fix it instead of telling them to stay out of it.
  • You're not sure if the leader of your nation has EVER had sex and you really don't want to know if he has!
  • You get milk in bags as well as cartons and plastic jugs.
  • Pike is a type of fish, not some part of a highway.
  • You drive on a highway, not a freeway.
  • You have Canadian Tire money in your kitchen drawers.
  • You know that Mounties "don't always look like that.
  • You use a red pen on your non-Canadian textbooks and fill in the missing 'u's from labor, honor, and color.
  • You know the French equivalents of "free", "prize", and "no sugar added", thanks to your extensive education in bilingual cereal packaging.
  • You can do all the hand actions to Sharon, Lois and Bram's "Skin-a-ma-rinky-dinky-doo" opus.
  • You can eat more than one maple sugar candy without feeling nauseous.
  • You know what a toque is.
  • You have some memento of Doug and Bob.
  • Back bacon and Kraft Dinner are two of your favorites food groups.

Thanksgiving

I am very behind in blogging and and at some we had Thanksgiving!
We all met up in E-town! It was such a party and way fun to be with all the sisters. We were busy eating candy apples, playing wii, shopping and just having fun! We also managed to squeeze in conference, where the age of going on missions changed!! Crazy! I am excited though. I maybe would have gone.. maybe! We also had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner. I love stuffing sooo much. Mom thought we had too much bread but just about polished the stuffing off in one sitting!

Coco boy was so good and so helpful during the entire trip. I got him a special treat on one of our many trips to get candy apples.

I cleaned out the dollar store and brought 8 swords. It was waaay fun! Cohen and Mason were very skilled at fighting and Quinny only knew how to poke! Thanks Grandma Wilde for teaching everyone to poke at a young age!

We did finger painting. Mason ended up eating the paint...

Cohen was surprisingly good at wii. Don't worry, we sisters got in all of our favorites... mushroom gorge, moo moo meadows, the mall, peach beach and a few rounds of jeopardy!

Uncle Timmy love that Cohen is growing up and becoming so much fun!
We needed a reason to eat skor cake so we had a birthday party for Cohen. He is turning 4 and is such a big boy!! Tim loves buying toys for his niece and nephews. He likes them to be loud and obnoxious. He spent quite sometime trying to decide what to get him and settled on army guys and army tanks. This present is tame but I am worried for pay back from my sisters for other toys.
I got Cohen Red shirt, Green shirt, blue shirt.... OOPS!! I love watching him practice his colours and read it so well and then laugh at the turkey wearing the clothes upside down.

We went to a sweet indoor playground. It was very very difficult to climb to the top and the kids never seemed to run out of energy!

We had decent weather and loved Erin's backyard and new house!

Dentures anyone? We went on a field trip to see Grace Denture Clinic aka Tyler's Clinic!! It was sooo cool to see what he is working so hard for! Good job and good luck! His picture on the advertisment is so cute, he is seriously grinning ear to ear.

We had a girl's night out and hit up the melting pot! My mouth waters just thinking about it. It was fun to visit and I love my family more than anything in the world. I couldn't have asked for a better mother and sisters!

We played a rousing round of wide world!! So fun and so hard with that stupid map moving ALL the time. Muffy finally just stayed on and waited til the map got her on her destinations. Worked much better than you would ever think. If Tannis lets Mom choose her husband thant she gets to inherit the game. I want it sooo bad!
I am excited and can hardly wait for Christmas!

First Day Of School

On September 12, Tim went to his first day of school for a masters in Military and Strategic Studies!! He had worked so hard to get into this program and was beyond excited to start. A few days before we went shopping and picked out some new clothes for him to wear. He looks so professional and so grown up!

Over the summer I quickly forgot how much I dislike the school year! You see, I am proud of Tim's work ethic but it also causes me to barely see him. He reads and reads and then writes and writes all day and comes home pooped! The good change for this year is that I have Wrigley and we are definitely besties. We have been going on 2 hour walks daily. The sunshine has been so lovely.

Because Tim is a masters student he get's a cubicle.
I think your own cubicle is pretty cool. It was fun to go on a tour to see where Tim will spend the majority of his time. Because the program is small, Tim is enjoying to get to know the professors and his peers. This program is  much more like my respiratory school where you know everyone. The people are very unique to say the least and all have very different backgrounds. During the first week of school they all went rafting down the Bow River and had a blast. I am so glad he is loving the program and looking forward to what is in store. He is currently planning to do a co-op. This means he will do classes for a year and a half and then do a 8 month co-op. Wish him luck!

It has finally happened...

Well I regret to inform you all that it has happened. I have broken down and I am officially a member of a fantasy football league. It was truly only a matter of time given my husband and the amount of time I spent watching the sport. I am slowly learning names and tactics. I am not as good as my sister, Danielle, but she has a few years on me.
Tim's league was short a few people so to show my husband how much I love him I joined the league.

This is how I feel about it.

Tim is the commissioner of the league and takes this roll very very seriously!

The boys tried to intimidate me but there was nothing they could do as I had my sidekick Danielle on the phone who helped me draft an amazing team. I have won my first two games and I think I have a pretty good chance at going far. Wish me luck! Or at least some beginners luck!

My team includes:
Quarterback: Drew Brees and Joe Flacco
Running Back: Steven Jackson, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Michael Bush, Fred Jackson and Isaiah Pead
Wide Receiver: Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Reggie Wayne and Kenny Britt
Tight End: Rob Gronkowski and Tony Gonzalez
Kicker: Stephen Gostkowski
Defense: Houston

Labour Day Camp Out

For Labour Day weekend Tim and I headed out to Gull Lake to camp with our amazing friends. Aside from the rain, it was way fun to be outside enjoying good company.
I made a list and tried to be super organized but for those of you who know me, know that this clearly didn't happen. First of all, Tim and I don't own much camping gear so the night prior to leaving we spent the day pillaging the Wright's garage for sleeping bags and wood. We then drove around calgary looking for hot dog roasting sticks and camping chairs. We could only find $50 chairs!! Seriously we were NOT paying that!! The next morning after loading the car and dropping the puppy off at the Wright's we tried again and found sweet connected chairs with an umbrella! We were all business while camping. We then picked up the last of the groceries and ended up in and out of the store 3 times as I forgot plates:)

After finally reaching Gull Lake we went to a corn maze that was wicked and had loads of other fun things to do.
There was an amazing sqash/zucchini/tomato gun! Seriously, so cool. Breanna was the only one to listen to the nice guy helping us to aim the gun and managed to hit the target, aka the bus!

Tim is actually shooting the potato gun.

Jordan was a tether ball champ but I plan on having a rematch at some point! There were also animals, pedal carts and a weird jumpy thing.

We enjoyed the campfire for a night but couldn't handle what felt like constant rain. Fall seemed to sneek up on me as I was grossly unprepared and only brought one pair of pants! It had previously been so sunny and I couldn't believe that change. Sleeping was a bit chilly but I am not complaining as Tim chose to snuggle with me!! (Seriously Tim freaks out if I touch him while he is asleep!)

The next day we decided to pack it in and drove to Edmonton to continue the party at Jordan and Julie's. It was fun to sleep, watch movie and eat delicious food.
We hit up Whyte Ave the next morning and found this....
Outside urinals!!! Seriously, Edmonton?? Real classy. There were toilets but they were just sitting outside. Weird. I guess it is to prevent sketch things from going on in the bathroom.
Thanks for the fun weekend and we look forward to next year just in August or else I will be more prepared with a few extra pairs of pants.

ps. we also bought a new car!!! woohoo!! It feels so good to have two good cars that we know won't break down. It was a bit spur of the moment but it was a good deal and we love it. It is a pontiac vibe. Obviously we are filling up at Canadian Tire. Tim is saving up to buy a gun and will gladly take donations! Thanks Heyland's for about $2 in Canadian Tire money. It is harder than you think to save it up!

Action Packed August

August was a very fun month for us! We continued to be crazy busy but stayed a bit closer to home. Tim and I enjoyed a Saturday together and I introduced him to garage saleing! Needless to say he is hooked. We found a staple gun, wii games, lots of board games and a crochet book. I plan on making the beaty seen below. Yes, that is a crochet bikini!! hahaha! It doesn't get much better than that.

After garage saleing we went downtown and had lunch at the Steakout Foodtruck. It was beyond delicious! I thought it was so fun.

We found a new dog park that is by the bow river. There are always lots of dogs there and you can go down to a little inlet of the Bow River which is perfect for Wrigley to swim in!!! We were so proud the first time he swam.

Wrigley had a hair cut
Before:

After:

We did some babysitting.
Paige Leishman's dog, Kobe. Wrigley and Kobe got along great and we took Kobe to the dog park. He definitely loved it!

We also babysat Avery Livingstone. She was sooo good and absolutely loved Wrigley. She kept putting her face right next to his so she got lots of kisses. We also went to the park and found lots of sticks but Wrigley was continually stealing every stick she found. That is ok because she found that quite funny.

We took a weekend trip home to have a garage sale and can peaches! Tannis came too! After a minor mishap with her car smoking after she barely got outside of Edmonton. She then had to take the Greyhound over night to Calgary! She had to sit by some super sketch people but we are so glad she came because it was extra super fun with her!
We were pretty serious garage salers and I took home a pretty awesome comission! Danielle, you can be jealous:) I have a new dresser, food processor, dog booties and a slap chop! Thanks Mom, I think I will come work at your garage sale next year cuz let's be honest there was a tonne of awsome stuff and they are sure to find even more for next year!
We didn't manage to sell a giant stuffed polar bear but it was in such good shape that we couldn't bear just sending it to good will so we walked it down tot the Darin and Amy Wilde family. Mia, who is the third of three girls so I feel for her always getting the hand-me of the hand-me-downs, was sure happy to have it as she had had her eye on it while at the garage sale. I am not sure Amy was as happy but hey, we will see it at your garage sale in the next 10 years!
Seriously! Tannis and I worked hard!

A big shout out to my Grandma Wilde! I love her so much and am so grateful to how much she does for me. She spent so much time in high school supporting everything I did. She came to all of my band concerts and basketball games! She is such an amazing example. Thanks so much for taking the time to teach me how to do canning. I had a blast and am looking forward to next year. (sorry for the blurriness!)

Tim has been working so hard this summer. He is starting to pick up quite a few of his own painting jobs. He enlisted me to help paint a fence but I was soon fired because I was waaaay to slow! I had that fence so pristinely painted, apparently it is more about speed!

We are sad to see summer come to a close but can't complain because we have had so much fun!

Calgary Iron Man

Gordon, Myrleen and Karlie came to visit us up here in the great white north! They hung out just long enough for Gordon to run the Calgary Half Iron Man. He did amazing and it was so fun to watch.
Watching at the end of the race.

Run Gordon Run!!! He was easily spotted as he was proudly wearing his American gear.

They also enjoyed our funny money! I seriously love Canadian coloured money because it is easier see the bill you need!! I never have to look through each bill because they are all the same colour! Gordon also enjoyed our puppy. He would scare Wrigley with a stuffed animal and chase him around the Wright's house. It was hilarious!

Tally Lake

The Wilde's all met up in Montana for a family camping trip at Tally Lake. It was truly a blast. The lake is super black and extremely deep but very warm so it was enjoyable to boat, throw rocks and swim around in. We also enjoyed a copius amount of vanilla coke, cherry coke and diet coke. The boys rocked the golf course and the girls went shopping. Seriously can hardly wait til we get Target here! I hope it is good.
I was looking a little rough by this point because the sun was crispy frying me!

Cohen loved everything about Tally Lake. He went knee boarding and tubing. He also was just "holding" the matches for you and could hardly wait for you to start the fire at night so he could roast you a marshmallow.

Even gator was camping!

Mason and Quinny were terrorsists as per usual but seriously how cute are they?

Napping while camping was a struggle which resulted in....

and both slept in the boat

Quinny learned how to escape from the tent in the wee hours of the morning.

Mom being mom but seriously a big thanks to her for planning all of this and organizing food and bringing of all the supplies that none of us have collected yet.

Mom enjoying nap time.

Danielle is not so good at making jiffy pop but I am a jiffy pop master! I guess Girls Camp taught me something.

I promis Tim was at Tally Lake the entire time but I somehow managed to take no pictures. He did have us buy whip cream and it was much enjoyed.

After the first night we learned to put the babies to bed and then start a fire. We enjoyed playing guesstures, eating marshmallows, lasso golf and of course dutch blitz.

Much to my mother's surprise I learned how to drive the boat with a quick lesson!

Erin rocked at wakeboarding and managed to drop a ski to go to slalom!
Danielle got up on the wakeboard for the first time and then followed it right up by getting up on skis!

I managed to wakeboard and then get up on skis and was able to drop a ski to slalom!!! I was soo happy.

Tanny is skiing below but was a wakeboard queen! She had enough guts to try a 180 but then waxed out hard on her way back across the wake.

Mom's still got it! She had to use her fabulous wet suit but she still got out there!

The boys took a break from the group and went cliff jumping. Caution their whiteness might blind you!
