Halloween

Jack was super excited to carve pumpkins but was out once he realized he had to pull the guts out with his hands.

Elise and Jack's pumpkin.

Tim's pumpkin.

I thought going to Bass Pro for a Halloween picture would be a fun outing.... going out with two kids is harder than I anticipated. The line was longer than anticipated and Jack was pumped to be out and we managed. Getting the actual picture was the most terrifying part as handing over your 8 week old to a 3 year old is a dicey decision.

Getting excited for Halloween and looking at all the decorations in the neighbourhood.

I just can't get enough of this little Princess Leia.

I am very proud of my non-crafty self. I sewed Jack's Luke Skywalker coat out of an old bed sheet and varagesaled his shirt. I made Phoebe's headband with some braided yarn and glued it on some elastic. They are just the cutest. I could eat them up!

Dressed up and ready for the Ward Halloween Party. Luke, Leia and Darth Maul
It is so fun to see him getting bigger and being able to participate in the activities. He loves being part of the group and being with the big kids.

We lucked out and got a fairly nice night for trick-or-treating. Jack was so excited to go out but melted down and wouldn't put on his Luke Skywalker costume. We compromised and he wore last years panda outfit.
Jack lasted longer than I thought he would and people were far too generous. We started with a tiny little candy bag but quickly realized it wouldn't hold anything. Tim had to run home and grab a bigger bag.
He got a massive haul. We trick-or-treated down our culdesac and up Luxstone Blvd all the way to Becky's house by 7-11. By that point Jack was done and we enjoyed a quiet walk home looking at all the costumes.

Month 1

Month one went by really fast. It was truly a whirlwind but life is settling down and we are finding our new normal. Phoebe is the sweetest. She is content to just be snuggled and get passed from person to person. She is a gassy girl. When she starts to fuss I have to rub her tummy and bicycle her legs to relieve the gas. It literally explodes out of her. I frequently have to do an outfit change as it always manages to get on me.

Thank-you Jessi Olsen. I am completely in love with these newborn photos!

Monthly photos are ridiculous but you can't not do them.

October

General Confence watching. So much work to keep a 2 year old occupied!

Trying out new things in the Instant Pot. Fresh warm apple sauce! So good to enjoy while watching general conference.
Tanny came to visit. She is kind of a big deal and so crafty. We did some crafting for Phoebe's room. I am seriously so impressed with her skills.

Waiting in the mall while Mom and Dad get new cell phones!
 Dadding like a boss!

My new normal. Two kids is twice as many diapers. Line them up and getting it done at the same time.
Every Vote Counts! So grateful that Tim is now a Canadian citizen and can have some say in what happens in our government.
Potty training isn't happening. Jack screams when I try to put underwear on him. Trying a new method of potty training Panda.... It did not inspire him. He just put Panda in a timeout shortly after this. It is funny/scary seeing your kid act exactly like you!
Grandma Wilde flew into Calgary after a trip so she came by to meet Phoebe. It was so nice to see her.

Jack is a little bit curious about Phoebe. He mostly ignores her but on occasion he decides to share with her.

Definitely lost Jack back there. You can't turn your back on him for a second. I was almost in tears, had other shoppers in the store looking for him and had customer service call for him over the intercom.
If Jack is good and doesn't hide behind pop we stop at the McDonald's in Wal-mart and get a free ice cream cone. On this day it wasn't busy so they let Jack fill his own cone. He thought that was very cool.

My mom was in town for a teachers conference for a few days so we went to for supper with her and swam at her hotel!

Sleeping children are my absolute favourite.

We have been going to Community Links playgroup. It has been so fun and we have met some super fun people. We go to the main centre or to Bethany Care Centre. At the Bethany the elderly are wheeled down and watch the kids play. The kids play for an hour, sing songs and then have a snack and go home. It is our favourite!

Old dog park. One of my favourite places!

Butterfield Acres with the Heyland's. So many obnoxious goats to pet! Jack thought it was amazing and magical. Win win!

Before halloween some unknown friends dropped off treats and we were to pass it along to somebody else. I tried to make caramel apples. Unfortunately it didn't work out and I wasted way to much time trying. One day I will learn how to make the perfect caramel apples!

There you have it. October in a dump of photos. Still trying to get the hang of two kids, enjoying the last moments of warm ish weather and Halloween.
