Christmas

Christmas was kept moderately low key. The Wright's came over and we ordered in Buffalo Wild Wing. Naturally there was more food than we could ever consume but no complaints here. We read the Christmas Story and put Jack to bed! Dede slept over so we watched Harry Potter and hung out.
All ready for Santa!
I think Christmas morning is one of the most magical things.

We didn't put the presents out until Jack went to bed. It was the best to see his reaction. First he was thrilled over just the paper as we splurged on Paw Patrol wrapping paper.
Jack was pretty jazzed by his stocking. He was hard to keep motivated in opening presents because he would get a bit stuck on each one and want to open it and play with everything.
Then he got really into opening presents and might have opened a few that didn't belong to him.

Naturally Jack got spoiled rotten! This t-ball set is going to be oh so dangerous and oh so much fun. We also got him some duplo. From the grandma's he got paw patrol gear and a little people barn. Lots of treats and other knick knacks! Lucky boy!
Other Christmas highlights for me included a camping rocking chair, pressure canner and an instant pot! I can hardly wait to enjoy all of the gear. For Timmy the highlights included an archery bow, fly fishing pole and some throwing knives. It was a happy Christmas for all.
We ate breakfast and then headed off to church.
Going to church was a good reminder of the reason for the season. It is easy to get caught up in the chaos of the season. I am grateful for the birth of the Saviour and the chance to celebrate him. Jack didn't fully appreciate the entire thing but little by little he is learning. Every year is more fun. I am grateful for family and the chance to just enjoy being together.
After Church we enjoyed a meal of ham and funeral potatoes. I am impressing my self with my cooking abilities. We enjoyed naps, hanging out and playing games. It was a chilly day and a good reason to just stay home and be grateful for what matters most.
