July

This summer has literally been so magical. There has been no shortage of summer sunshine. Our typical routine is to wake up, connect with friends and hit up a park. We love going out with the Hegedus's as their twins can keep an eye on Jack. A lunch is usually packed and we don't come home until nap time.
Waiting for a gopher to pop up.
We have gone to so many different parks and enjoy exploring all around them.

I love Airdrie. I love that even though I live in a city they country isn't very far away. Airdrie is being developed at an insane rate and Calgary is always growing closer. We are definitely taking advantage of this wide open space while we can.
Wrigley has, on occasion, started sleeping with Jack.

One day it rained so we went to an indoor play place with Miko and Tadashi Collette. Jack was in heaven and I was impressed that I could haul my pregnant self up there.
Jen and Jordan came to Stampede so I got to hang out with Rhett. He is such a sweet little boy.
We have been going so hard this summer. Nap time isn't always possible. If Jack is tired enough he will just curl up and go to sleep, regardless of the time. Sometimes in the evening when life is just too much I will put him in the carrier so I can get a few things done.

So exhausted that Jack fell asleep in nursery.
Swimming at the Heyland's amazing community centre.
Jack is getting so fast on the strider bike. I have a love hate relationship with this skill. I usually walk behind with the stroller so that when he gets too tired he can hop in. He has on occasion gone too far up ahead and I have had to abandon the stroller and run after him. Being 7 months pregnant I am one unhappy momma when I finally catch up. We are working on our listening skills.

 Continuing to prep for baby.
My doctors clinic is right beside Riley Park. On hot days, after our appointments we go to the wading pool and then hit up the sweet park after.

We hit up a park before heading out to Chestermere Lake with friends. Jack was so excited that he wore the goggles the entire time.

We went out to the Bowness dog park. I had a feeling that I should bring a swim diaper but I held out hope that wading in a few steps would be enough. We started out fully clothed but by the end were stark naked.

Jack got switched out to an official big boy bed. It is honestly the best change. He is an ok sleeper but on occasion wakes up waaaaay to early or needs a little snuggle. It is so nice to be able to just lay down beside him.
We have also started reading to him in his bed at night. It has really helped him wind down and go to sleep even better. Tim loves reading to Jack. It is one of the things his Dad did when he was little and loved it. Tim often reads until Jack falls asleep.
Play dough for the win. He loves to flatten it and cut out "pizza" shapes. Jack is starting to get better at quieter, more focussed play.
Tim introduced Jack to the real light sabre battles. Tim Youtubes a montage of all the battles. To say Jack is in heaven is an understatement. He watches and pretends to fight. It keeps him entertained for a solid half hour.
Getting all the snuggles I can before I have to split my time.
Jack LOVES butter. If I leave it out to soften for cooking he always manages to find it and eat it while my back is turned!
