8 months

This little chunk turned 8 months old! I think it has been one of my favourite months because he has started crawling! It is fun to see him able to explore the world on his own. The new found movement makes the monthly picture taking that much more difficult. 

Jack does Costco like a boss. They even had his favourite food: cheese strings! 

Food is still a bit of a struggle in our lives. Jack loves meat and cheese. He refuses to eat fruit. He does enjoy the foods we eat for supper and will eat some veggies if mixed in with a sauce. It is always messy but he still loves feeding himself. The mess isn't the end of the world because Wrigley cleans everything up!

Jack is learning how to drink from a cup! He kind of laps it up like a dog.

Dad's are the best! Tim loves to spoil Jack and always shares his treats with him. 

 Getting ready in the morning is always a struggle. Jack enjoyed sitting in the sink until he figured out how to turn the water on!

Jack woke up waaaaay to early so I decided we had to go for a walk. I wasn't ready to deal with a grumpy baby and Jack is basically always happy outside in the stroller.

Jack is still a very happy boy. He loves to be outside and loves Wrigley. Sleeping this month has been a struggle. Scheduling is hard over summer! He loves anything that rolls so he can crawl after it. He isn't shy and will go to anyone. At his check-up with the Doctor he weighed in at 19 lbs and is off the chart for height. He is also in the top for head circumference! Not sure where the height came from but Tim has high hopes for a sports superstar!

Summer Wrap Up

After the big camping extravaganza Jack was over tired and a little sick so I got some sweet cuddles on the couch. 

Once a month ish I get together with friends from work for breakfast club. It is especially fun because since starting this 3 of us have had babies! 

I supported Children's Miracle Treat day and stood in line for over an hour! It is ok cuz the the blizzard was amazing!

Tim has become quite the tool man now that he has a garage to store everything. He has spent many nights out there building a work bench and getting everything organized just right. 

Most people in Airdrie have a dog which means lots of dog parks! I have explored every one of them and look forward to lots of walks. Summer has been so beautiful and hot so late night walks are definitely the best!

I picked my Mom and Paul up from the airport and as it turns out they have a Chick-fil-a in the airport!! I was able to have some waffle fries and lemonade. I was one happy girl with the treat. Anybody else need a pick up from the airport? I am happy to do it! Only have to bring me Chick-fil-a on your way out! 

Also I went through the drive through for a dollar drink and the person in front of me paid for my drink!! There is serious magic during dollar days!

We found a place not too far called that is absolutely beautiful. There is a nice little hike along a river with lots of little waterfalls. It was fun to get out and enjoy the beauty that is so close!

Thanks to Tim and Chrissy I was able to play ultimate frisbee again this summer! It was so fun to play and have one night away from Jack. We won the B division... so the winners of the losers! By the end of the year I felt like I was starting to get the hang of things. Hopefully I will be able to play again next year!

It is hard to believe that summer has come to an end. It was very busy but definitely a summer to remember. I feel like these pictures don't do justice with how much fun we have had. I don't mind winter but I will miss the long summer days!

 We love where summer has led us and living in Airdrie has been great. We love our hose and most of the boxes, thanks to Tim, are unpacked. Now with life slowing down I might have time to hang a picture or two!

Post Camping: Edmonton Fun

We got to go to my favourite Edmonton parade: The Cari West Parade! It celebrates the Caribbean culture. The parade is full of all sizes and types of people dressed in fabulous outfits. They play super loud music and dance down the street in questionable outfits. 

This was Jack's exact 7 month birthday but the Cari West Parade was just too much for him. He definitely wasn't a fan of the loud music. He still scares easily.

 This guy is our favourite. Erin and Tannis manage to find him every year! He is just hilarious. Maybe next year we can go in the parade with him!

 That night we went on a triple date to The Lion King! It was seriously so amazing. Young Nala and Simba were so talented. I couldn't believe that they were only 12 years old. I also loved the costumes. They were so creative! I love my sisters and it was great to have fun and have no kids!

 Ollie loves Jack! He always wanted to hold him. 

 After having Jack I have not rebuilt my core. I hurt my back while we were boating so I am trying to plank every day. Danielle challenged me to a plank off. I lost by a long shot but hopefully next time I see her I can win!

Jack got to have a cousin bath. It was pretty fun to have more entertainment.

I love being an Aunt! Ollie and I shared a tub of ice cream for breakfast while his mother wasn't paying attention. He is such a cute, easy going and happy boy. 

We spent an afternoon at the Leg fountains. I had never been before and it was super nice. Jack loves water and being outside so he was in heaven. 

Even though it was super hot out the kids still wanted to hot tub. They used it more like a swimming pool. I was the lucky adult they talked into going in with them. 

Erin took us to the most amazing store called The Grocery People. They are a wholesale store and sell lots of amazing candy! It was a bit of a disaster... Ollie tried to eat everything, Danielle took an entire display out with her cart and the rest of the kids ran wild but it is all ok because we bought a tonne of delicious goodies! I will definitely be going back. 

After The Grocery People we hit up a splash pad. We seriously had the best weather for being outside. It definitely made up for our crappy camping weather. Jack loved the playing in the water even if it did get him in the face and was freezy cold. 

 Scar of course took a fall moments after this photo was taken. She continues to be a little monkey. 

These two boys make me nervous about having a boy of my own. They caught the most massive spider in a plastic bag and brought it in to show everyone. I was also helping Danielle clean out her car and opened a little compartment next to where Cohen sits and found a live grasshopper. When asked Cohen said, "I was saving him for later!" Haha even though they have an affinity for bugs and gross things they sure are sweet. They are so kind to Jack and I will definitely miss seeing them while they are in Alaska! Please move closer soon!

The real question is where would I be with out these three!?! My sisters are the greatest and I sure do love them. They have always been some of my biggest supporters and really do want the best for me.

Overall the week spent with my family was awesome. We ate lots of poutine and treats, stayed up way to late and just had lots of laughs. Drive safe to Alaska and figure out how to visit lots!
