Aqua Fit

I have decided that I need to be a little bit more healthy in eating and exercise so I picked up the schedule to our community center and have planned to go to aqua fit but I just haven't seemed to get there til today!! This morning I rolled over in bed to see the clock saying 7:30 and realized that I could get out of bed and make it there for the first class. I managed to get there just as the class started. Let's just say my golden birthday has inspired me to be a golden girl! I rocked that aqua fit class. The average age was probably between 70-80. It was very fun and I plan to go back. I even met a very nice little old lady who told me she has been going there since that place opened when she was a young girl. After the class I sat in the hot tub where I enjoyed listening to all the old people chatting about there grandkids. I then decided it was home time so I hit the locker room. There I found Jean. Jean had lost her keys. Poor Jean! bahaha it was fantastic! I was in my element. Tannis you can have the antiques road show but I claim aqua fit!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should all join me! This lovely outing took place at the sir winston churchill pool.

We used these sweet dumb bells and it was more of a work out than you think! My arms are very weak.
I look forward to the day when I am as cool as these old ladies! When I retire I will be fully enrolled in all of these classes and yes Tim will be coming with me!!

Golden Girl

I just turned 22 on the 22nd and therefore that makes me the golden girl!! In case you didn't know it is your golden birthday when you turn the age of the date of your birthday. Some people call it your champagne birthday but I like golden better considering I am not a champagne drinker! I had a pretty fantastic birthday. I didn't end up wearing gold clothes all day but I just felt golden. I worked the night before and the night of my birthday but that was ok cuz everybody wished me happy birthday and I had lots of phone calls, texts and facebook messages!

Thanks to Julie Heyland for coming over on my birthday! She brought me a ballon and cupcakes and made me feel super golden! The cupcakes were delicious but I really liked the balloon cuz I don't think I have ever gotten one of the really cool ones before!

My mom also came to visit for my birthday! We ditched Tim and of course the first thing we did was get some diet coke from 7-11 and then went off to go PUPPY shopping. We drove all the way to crossfield in search of a puppy. It was a lovely day. I immensely enjoyed it.

My husband was also pretty awesome for my birthday. He let me enjoy my birthday ALL week! I am pretty sure your birthday lasts all week even if Tim tells me they don't! I actually think this is my golden year! But Tim doesn't need to know that. Tim got me season 3 and 4 of one tree hill! I am currently watching them and am so glad I have them.
For my birthday Tim finally took me to Lloyds roller rink!! yeah!! Awesome date night! Tim has had many excuses in the past for not taking me such as homework, tired, no rollerblades and the ones at Lloyds give you blisters! well blah blah blah! you found your roller blades so it was finally  time to go!

And we of course had sooo much fun! I loved the music and the people and just plain being on roller skates. It was fantastic! And I know Tim had fun. We will let you all know the next time we go because I know you are all jealous!

All in all thanks for to everyone for making my birthday extra golden!

The Vegas!

At the beginning of March I went to vegas with my sisters. (minus Tannis and she was missed) Erin and I flew out of Calgary and met up with muffy at the San Fran airport and then we all arrived in late in Vegas and basically just went to bed. Below is a picture of why my suitcase was filled to the brim! Sneaky Danielle called to have me bring hawkins cheezies and penny candies. She then called Erin and had her bring all sorts of chocolate and some salt & vinegar chips. Turns out it was a good thing that we had all this food because we didn't really eat.. at all! We tried once at the excalibur buffet but I am pretty sure it was the most disgusting thing ever! I ended up just having greek salad, grapes, pop and some ice cream for desert.
Activities on the trip included relaxing, sleeping and people watching. We also squeezed in some shopping, a show and walking the strip. It was a pretty great trip.
Erin taught us how to play the goldfish game...
And Danielle rocked it by winning $9.00!! Big winnings!

We stayed at the Excalibur.

We got some matchy, matchy sunglasses!!!

We hit up the shops and found the M&M people but nobody wanted to watch the movie with danielle.

And then found the coke polar bear which tried to eat Erin's head.

We at once more on the trip  at Serendipity! It was delicious and the portions were gigantic!! The frozen hot chocolate really hit the spot.

We spent a lot time riding on the bus.

We went to the show KA and it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved every second of it. The performers made it looked so easy but they mad my heart stop every time! They had some pretty crazy stunts.

I got fried laying by the pool!! I came complete with a blister on my nose. It sure did hurt and I went promptly to walgreens to buy aloe gel. Didn't really help much. I still peeled like crazy.

The stratosphere rocked!! We rode the rides and it was crazy to be up that high and see all of vegas. Danielle was sitting beside me and was hyperventilating to point where she could no longer breathe and had pains in her chest. Erin's nice seat partner asked her to marry him but she had to politely decline and say she was already happily married.

Basically I just loved the Vegas! It was sooo nice to get away for a few days and have no worries. It was also enjoyable to have no kids or husbands! Just sisters cuz sisters rock!
The only down side was arriving to the airport and learning that our flight was cancelled due to snow in Calgary. So the people tried to get us on to an air canada flight so we walked 1 km to the air canada terminal and found out we weren't actually on the flight. Elizabeth P. wasn't very nice!!! She said you are NOT on the flight and it closes in 10 min. So we ran back to the united desk.. another km away and they had 10 other people with the same flight but because we only had carry united told us to run back to air canada... so we did back another km!!! We were sweating and tired by this point and found out we still were not on the flight. At this point Erin just broke down because quinny was sick and erin and I both had work the next day. So I tried speaking nicely to get us on the flight and then they just said I was yelling. I am NOT a yeller!! And then I hoped we could just get to edmonton or something and the other guy at the counter said he could get us to Toronto!!*&!(&!#%*!@^  Seriously? Toronto?? Maybe I will send you to texas!! Finally we did get on the flight and sprinted through security only to find that the flight was delayed an hour and not even sitting on the tarmack! Nice. Dear Air canada... that realy sucked! But we made it home safe. And tim welcomed me home with a clean house and some dinner. I was glad to be home all safe and sound.

Vegas was awesome but the next time I go it will for sure be with Tim and we will definitely be trying to meet Chumlee from pawn stars!

One year Older...

Happy Birthday to my fantastic husband who turned 26!! I can't believe he is one year older but I am not so sure about the wiser:) Anyways we went out to Bolero for dinner with his family and it was delicious and I left uncomfortably full. Bolero is basically all you can eat meat!! It was fantastic.
Stuffed after a delicious meal at Bolero
Then it was time to open presents!!!
Some chocolatey treats
John Stockton Bobblehead!
Now Steve won't be lonely and can hang out with John!
I bought John Stockton off e-bay and the lady accidentally sent peja stojakovic!! Danielle thought I was confused and didn't know who john stockton was. You can't get that wrong if you live with Tim. But the e-bay seller pulled through and managed to get it to danielle in time for her to bring it to vegas.

Tim is wonderful! He tuly is my better half.
Top 10 reasons I love him:
1. He does dishes! I would rather do the toilet than dishes. Tim often surprises me by doing the dishes while I am on a night shift. I is fantastic to come home to a clean house after a long night.
2. Spoils me rotten. We always set a budget for holidays but Tim is not very good at remembering and always goes over a bit.
3. Hobbies- Tim can talk about guns, axis & allies, coins and cards for hours. He always brings his guns home to welling so my sisters and I can try and hit the clay pigeons.
4. Snuggles- No matter how tired tim is at the end of the day he always talks to me for a good 15min before we fall asleep. That is probably my favourite part of the day.
5. Smarty Pants- Tim works soooo hard on all papers, projects and tests. He is trying to teach me mandarin and is being so patient. He also got in to a masters program and is so excited to keep learning.
6. Manages money- I am definitley not in charge of the finances. Tim is just so awesome at taking care of everything. He is so prudent and makes sure we are saving money for a rainy day.
7. Dates- Tim and I still go on dates often. We go to movies, out for walks and bowling. Tim is such a good sport and is so willing to be active and try new things with me. Tim has recently taken up snowboarding for me. We have so much fun learning together.
8. Good with kids- No we will  not be having any for a while but I was so impressed how he took care of the babies at christmas so we could sleep in.
9. Strong testimony- Although our dream calling is door greeter, he accepts all calling willingly and helps me with mine. I am so grateful to him for taking me to the temple and for our eternal marriage.
10- Most importantly Tim love me for being me. Oddly enough I am on occasion, not very nice and Tim just loves me anyways. He treats me fantastic and I wouldn't trade him for anything
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIMMER!

Hobo Hotel

Back in September, Tim picked me up from work and said, "Do you want to move next week??" He had found us a resident managing job and we would be moving into an apartment building just off 16th ave and across from SAIT. Resident managing is just living in an apartment building and you are expected to mow the lawn, shovel the walk, vacuum the hallways, call the plumber if he is needed, etc. and the best part is FREE RENT. So we moved to this lovely new building. Things started out well. We met some nice tenants and we thought.. How bad could this be but as everyone knows there is ALWAYS a catch! When taking the job they told us that the tenants in the building are part of the Calgary homeless foundation. They ensured us that the tenants had to go through a screening process and most of them would be women. Naive Tim and I thought, "OK, we can do this." Little did we know we had many surprises in store.
Although many tenants gave us a headache some were just so pleasant and I am glad the good tenants were able to be helped in getting back on their feet.
A list of our encounters include:
- People buzzing tenants until they were let in and then would sleep in the laundry room or hallways
- Knife fight (we missed it! We were in Utah while that went down.)
- Multiple occurences of drunk and disorderly conduct
- Drug deals
- Tenants fighting amongst eachother and then smashing the other persons phone into pieces!
- And lastly and best of all- Finding a dead lady! Please ask me about it next time we are together. It is a gooder.
All in all, we tried! But we were calling the cops bi-weekly and tim was having a hard time writing a test or midterms the next day after dealing with issues all night.
We learned a lot and have a new appreciation for pretty much everything. We love our new place and are really enjoying the luxury of two bedrooms!! We also really appreciate all of our friends for helping us one more time and if I become ambitious I will post some pictures of the place, after I get it cleaned up and hopefully a post will be up soon about the vegas!

Beebaw

We recently took an unexpected trip to Utah because Tim's grandpa, who we lovingly refer to as Beebaw, became sick and ended up passing away. We got the news, late on a Tuesday night, that Beebaw was in the hospital and after family prayer we hoped for the best. I went to work Wednesday night and called Tim to check in and got the news that we would be leaving Thursday at noon for Utah. We made it partway on Thursday and slept over night in Helena (it was different travelling with the Wright' seeing as you got to sleep in a hotel and not a car!! And stopped for meals and didn't have the mandatory food box) We had some sweet walkie talkies that kept us occupied.
Upon arrival we went to the hospital to meet up with the family and see Beebaw. Unfortunately things were not good and we stopped life support and were able to take him home for a few hours. This is a link to the obit: http://www.meaningfulfunerals.net/fh/obituaries/obituary.cfm?o_id=1377116&fh_id=10812#.Tx9tVbA9rcQ.facebook
It was fantastic to spend time with Wright's and here the stories about growing up. My personal favourites include Beebaw bashing the heads together like all good parents do and fishing. Beebaw was is an amazing man. I am eternally grateful to him and Grammie for helping in raising my Timmy. Tim basically lived at his grandparents house while his Dad was finishing school. I felt like I got to know a whole new side of Timmy as we looked through photo albums and drove past places that he went to as a child. Timmy and Dede were Grammies little entourage. They went everywhere and did everything with her and if they were good, they could get a toy. Timmy was spoiled rotten by his grandparents!
Beebaw was a WWII vet and flew blimps!
The Brothers from left to right: Tracy, Brian, Newell, Gordon, David
yes, there are only 5 boys in this family
The cousins
When Timmy and Dede were little they would play a passing interception game with their Uncle Brian. They are reliving the glory days only things don't work as wel as they used to.
Because we were in the land of the Utah Jazz Timmy spent lots of time buying merchandise. Here he is spending an hour going through basketball cards.
The Wright's showed us amazing hospitality! We slept at Gordon's for most of the time but we had to spend on night at Brian and Shauna's and this is where we slept. I of course slept in spiderman! It was also great to see their kids. They are very energetic! I can't wait to see them again on July 4.
We then did a quick 36hour stop in Twin to see the Scow's and conquered the world... if you were wondering!
Mason turned 1!! But don't let this picture fool you because Cohen opened all of Mason's presents for him. What a little helper he is...
And went tubing! Magic Mountain was well worth the trip!
We also got pedicures and played lots of games and didn't sleep a whole lot! And did a random grocery shopping trip so that Timmy and Denton could play playstation.

Family is amazing and I hope I did this post justice cuz the Wright's are soooo good to Timmy and me. I am so glad I had the chance to meet Beebaw and am grateful for his testimony and how he faithfully taught it to his entire family!

BRRRRRR!!!!!

Well I received a text message complete with picture update from Erin informing me that the weather is FREEZING!! Thanks Erin, you are really funny. Currently it is -39 but with wind chill feels like -49!! That just disgusts me. It is way too cold here for human habitation. The plumber came by today to check an apartment for frozen pipes and I had him come in and check mine because I was certain our heat wasn't working... aparently it is and our boiler is just old and can't keep up!
This is my heated blanket that I sit under all day while home! It is pure heaven under this thing!
And this is our space heater. We made one trip outside and it was to get this. I wouldn't say that it is warm in here now but it is helping to take the edge off.
My plan for the day is to make some cookies so that I can have the oven on! Good luck to the rest of you in surviving the weather.
